What this is

LegacyPing is a dead man's switch. It makes sure the people you chose receive material you prepared in advance, if you stop giving a sign of life.

How it works

  1. It asks. Each parcel has its own rhythm — by default every 90 days an e-mail arrives with a single-use “I'm alive” link.
  2. It reminds. Silence triggers reminders: by default after 7, 14, 21 and 28 days.
  3. It fires. After the configured period of silence it sends that parcel to its recipients — exactly once — and disarms it.
  4. It stops at every step. Clicking the link, signing in to the panel or pausing while you are away resets the counter.

You encrypt attachments before uploading and the server never learns the password. The recipient gets that password outside this system — in a sealed envelope. Without it the parcel is useless noise, and that is the most likely way the whole thing fails.
